SUPER NAP LAUNCHED WITH A WINNER: What better way for Daqman to launch his new-style banker, Super Nap, than with yet another value BETDAQ bet yesterday. Two, in fact. Two top-value winning bets, one of them spotted at nearly twice the price in morning exchanges (see yesterday’s Daqman Archive):

WON 13-8 CAPE BYRON (super nap, from 3.15 on BETDAQ)
WON 7/2 MAJOR PUSEY (from 7.2 on BETDAQ)

FIVE BEST BETS OUT OF THE LAST SIX: Call it a banker, call it a nap, call it a super nap, whatever.. Daqman’s best bet of the day has been in consistent form with five returns in the last six days, and he has a nap in both England and Ireland today.

WON 12-1 MRS BURBIDGE (Sunday nap)
WON 2-5 MOKAATIL (Monday nap)
3RD 11-2 SAVANNAH SLEW (Tuesday win-and-place nap)
WON 10-11 ORTIZ (Wednesday banker, now called super nap)
WON 13-8 CAPE BYRON (Friday super nap)

DAQMAN LEADING PRICEWISE 70-13: Daqman continues his assault on the Pricewise claims for value in the 2.45 Ascot, 3.15 Kempton, 3.55 Ascot and 6.45 Leopardstown, with the scores 70-13 to Daqman, who is 304 points clear of Pricewise to single-unit stakes.

BRANDO THE VALUE ON BETDAQ

2.25 Haydock (Sprint Cup) Three-year-olds have taken over this Group 1 (going for a four-timer today) but can they beat the weather?

Their hero of the July Cup, Harry Angel, has won on good to soft but this is deeper still, and his sire and dam’s sire were both top-of-the-ground animals. Behind him at Newmarket, Tasleet had beaten a bunch of these at York on the soft.

Brando, not himself at York, has since beaten the York runner-up, Magical Memory (also wins on soft), by the same four-lengths margin that Tasleet did, but Tasleet has yet to score at Group-1 level (his best top-of-the-grades placing was on firm).

Brando at 5.3 looks better value than Harry Angel at 3.8.

3.00 Haydock (Be Friendly Handicap) Soie de l’Eau outbattled Confessional in this last year and is marginally better off, with Silvestre De Sousa on arguably his best ride of the afternoon: 7.8 BETDAQ offers early mouse.

THE REAL McCOY AT BETDAQ 17.0

2.45 Ascot Squats now looks well handicapped against last year’s second Firmament (now 9lb worse off) and third, Von Blucher, and Georgia Cox keeps the mount for her 5lb claim after bringing him back to form at Newbury on the last day.

Old rival Birchwood was also back to his best at Glorious Goodwood, narrowly missing out on a £100,000 handicap prize, but another value claim could be George Wood taking Shady McCoy down a total of 5lb on the rating of his close fourth over CD in the Victoria Cup in the Spring.

He was also only four lengths off the winner of the International, again over CD, in July (not clear run) and is now 4lb better with the fifth home, Firmament, and 10lb better with the runner-up, Mjjack.

Shady McCoy looked far too big at 17.0 in the BETDAQ orange this morning which added up to a punter-friendly 105%. That’s value among value, then!

3.15 Kempton (London Mile Final) This is a struggle for the low-draw, with seven of the last eight winners coming from stalls 9 or higher.

Though 26.0 on BETDAQ this morning, Gossiping is much improved on turf (unlucky last twice) since winning twice over CD here at the start of the year. Commodity (11.5 BETDAQ value) has had an easy season after winning his qualifier for this in May

3.55 Ascot Cape Coast and First National have good handicap form over CD at this track this season but will they like the ground? Torcello will but what about the extra two furlongs?

Melting Dew will but will he play up at the start as usual? Londonium will but has the handicapper got hold of him? It’s a race of many question marks but it could be First National’s turn at the weights: 10.5 BETDAQ offers

4.25 Kempton A tough test here for Eqtidaar, facing Molecomb and Gimcrack runner-up Invincible Army, and Norfolk and Railway Stakes sixth True Blue Moon, but the vibes are strong that we have a future star on our hands.

DELANO ROOSEVELT NAPPED

4.00 Leopardstown Aidan O’Brien’s hold on this race – four in a row – was broken last year when Douglas MacArthur was only third. Ryan Moore today prefers Delano Roosevelt (BETDAQ 3.2), by Galileo out of 1,000 Guineas winner, Again, and he rates the Irish nap after an impressive CD maiden win.

5.35 Leopardstown (Matron Stakes) Three-year-olds are five out of nine, and Winter has beaten most of these, hile stablemate Roly Poly has taken care of Qemah.

With good gaps between her Guineas and Ascot and then between Goodwood and this race, there’s no reason why Winter can’t confirm herself champion miler.

Persuasive has been seen only once since second in this to Alice Springs in this last year, and is taken to follow the Winter winner home.

MY WORD! 10.0 LOOKS BIG..

6.45 Leopardstown (Irish Champion Stakes) It could be argued that only the best win this – Golden Hormn, Sea The Stars, Dylan Thomas, New Approach – and such champions make the Champion easy to pick, with five winning favourites out of five (2006-11) but not so this time around. It’s tough, so I’ll go for the improver.

Beaten two lengths by Ulysses in the York International, and also beaten by Barney Roy at Royal Ascot, Churchill, the dual Guineas winner at Newmarket and The Curragh, needs to bounce back.

Craven Stakes winner Eminent seemed to be a nearly horse after sixth in the Guineas, fourth in the Derby and only fifth behind Ulysses in the Eclipse, but was himself scintillating in a Group 2 at Deauville on the last day and is another out to redeem a tall reputation.

But the challenger with nothing to lose, Poets Word was enormous at 10.0 in a 103% BETDAQ orange this morning. Has shot up 26lb, stepping out of handicaps to win the Glorious Stakes at Goodwood in the manner of yet another future champion from Freemason Lodge
