NAPS HULLA-BHALOO: IT’S 1️⃣1️⃣1️⃣ Daqman named the big-race winners in Ireland yesterday and landed nap number 111 for the year in England to make it six out of the last nine!

GOING NOW SOFT AT NEWBURY: Daqman has a bull’s-eye bet and a nap at Newbury, where the ground has changed to soft. Daqman leads Pricewise 17-6, with +385.33 to level stakes (Pricewise -124.16).
MOORE MAGIC AT NEWBURY
⭕ 1.15 Newbury Gary Moore comes to this meeting this afternoon with three runners, following his fantastic Wednesday hat-trick of Juvenile Hurdle Finale and Welsh Grand National at Chepstow plus the Desert Orchid Chase at Kempton on the King George card.
His 7.5 BETDAQ offer, Issar d’Airy, a hurdler of no great repute, goes straight into a handicap chase after 233 days on the sidelines but it’s a race that won’t take much winning.
I was hoping the ground would dry out for Guy but it became soft at Newbury this morning. Guy has to carry 12st and improve on his two chase wins and one hurdle; all three on good going.
Martator will like it soft but hasn’t won a race, third then second here when well fancied the last twice.
A few days from his 11th birthday, The Russian Doyen has won at Newbury on good and soft, and has slipped 21lb down the handicap. Snag is he’s raced only once in more than 22 months.
FANTASTIKAS BETDAQ OFFER!
⭕ 1.25 Haydock I fancied Fantastikas had a chance in the Mandarin but this is Nigel Twiston-Davies’ first choice for the heavy-ground lover.
Fantastikas hasn’t won for nearly two years but has aimed very high, and is down 20lb since then, 27lb if you include James Turner’s claim. A tasty 4.8 on Betdaq Betting Exchange.
Fortescue ran fourth to subsequent Welsh Grand National winner, Nassalam, when they met in the trial for that race three weeks ago but has to give 18lb to Fantastikas.
Fortescue has run three times over the Grand National fences, twice in the National itself and is only 1-12 since October, 2021. He may now be at that stage where he stays but can’t ‘find’ anything.
Collectors Choice has failed to reach the frame in three chases. East Street and Robyndzone have won only in class 4, and need Fantastikas and Fortescue to underperform.
The Fantastikas stable of Nigel Twiston-Davies has Ballycamus at the foot of the handicap for the 3.35 Newbury. Well bred (Presenting out of a sister to Whisper) and made a good start to his chasing career at Chepstow.
LASKALIN LAID OUT FOR THIS
⭕ 2.25 Newbury (Mandarin Chase) STATS Eight of the last 10 winners were aged seven or younger; seven out of 10 carried 11st 7lb to 12st.
Shanty Alley and Laskalin – both 5lb lower today – were second and third in the race on soft last year.
Laskalin was 7-2 favourite then and his form reads as though aimed at the race again.
Venetia Williams is in tremendous form. In fact, her entire season so far is a punter’s delight, with a 28% strike-rate and 50-points level-stakes profit from 127 bets.
Bowtogreatness has also faced some of the best off a consistent 135 rating; has been placed but never won when fresh.
Atlanta Brave is not bred for this 3m 2f but shaped at Exeter as if he needed further. You’re betting on guesswork whereas Laskalin at 15.0 was clearly too big on BETDAQ.
JOHNNYWHO GOES THERE?
⭕ 3.00 Newbury (Challow Novices Hurdle, 2m 4.5f) Paul Nicholls goes for a four–timer in this today, following Bravemansgame (2020), Stage Star (2021) and Hermes Allen (last year).
His pair, Captain Teague and unbeaten-under-rules Farnogue, face Johnnywho and Willmount, both home for all money in Points, bumpers and hurdles; never beaten.
Nicky Henderson, who trained Champ to win this before the Nicholls hold on the race, also saddles two but is without the injured Nico De Boinville.
Willmount won here over 2m in November ‘very professionally’ (quote unquote Henderson) and Brave Jen just failed to catch a previous 15-lengths Newbury winner, also over the 2m.
Captain Teague, third in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, scored at Chepstow (2m 3.5f) and ran a close second at Cheltenham (2m 5f) carrying the penalty.
Newton Abbot winner Farnoge also shot clear at Ascot (2m 5.5f), despite his penalty, but the handicapper has him 9lb behind 140-rated Captain Teague (with, unofficially, Willmount at the same level of 131).
Johnnywho’s pedigree is packed with stamina for the mud, so I’ll have a bit of 5.9 on BETDAQ with a place saver.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
