42.0 DOUBLE CHANCE FOR KEATLEY
⭕ 4.10 Curragh (Irish Cesarewitch) FORM: A classy field for this with Aidan O’Brien’s Tower Of London, fourth in the Doncaster St Leger, likely favourite despite 9st 10lb (stall 13).
Brazil, Teed Up, Chally Chute and Jackfinbar, 1-2-3-4 in the Guinness Handicap at Galway, could get involved.
Jesse Evans and My Mate Mozzie were second and third in the Galway Hurdle. The form from My Mate Mozzie leads me to Nusret, a Grade-2 hurdle winner who scored here on the Flat at the Curragh in the summer.
Nusret’s Joseph O’Brien stablemate, St Vincent’s Garden, has been running as if today’s additional trip will unwind his ability. A third Joseph O’Brien hope, Dawn Rising, was third in the Irish St Leger.
DRAW: For the first time in the decade, they had stalls last year, instead of a flag start! Only one horse drawn higher than 20 finished in the first eight.
That seems to rule out last year’s runner-up Echoes In Rain (30), plus November Handicap second, My Mate Mozzie (31) and more, including my form choice, Nusret (25), a big drifter since Joseph O’Brien comments that he’d be lucky to get a place from such a wide run. Remember my Irish betting buddy who advised me to turn the racecard upside down in handicaps and back the lightweights and reserves who then rise to the top?
The short-list includes Legendary Day (9st 2lb, stall 4) who would give Adrian Paul Keatley the weekend of a lifetime after Wobwobwob’s winning the Ayr Silver Cup yesterday.
STATS: In fact, the stats show the last SIX winners out of seven carried 9st or less, which gives you Brazil, St Vincent’s Garden and Whiskey Sour.
First-reserve La Hacienda (9st 1lb, stall 11) won a handicap at last year’s Galway Festival and the Northumberland Vase at Newcastle this July. Legendary Day, fourth at Newcastle, was short of room that day.
Improver St Vincent’s Garden looks good off 9st (stall 16), along with Brazil (9st, second reserve; stall 19) but Whiskey Sour (8st 11lb, third reserve out of stall 5) is aged 10 now.
TRAINERS: Willie Mullins (3) and Aidan O’Brien (2) in the last nine seasons. JOCKEYS: Shane Foley 2. FAVOURITES: only one in the decade (last year).
Betdaq Betting Exchange: Tower Of London (6.8), with proven class, and improver St Vincents Garden (10.5) are strong representatives of the Classic generation, with Legendary Day (42.0) an in-form outsider from a stable in the headlines. First-reserve La Hacienda (146) is worth a pound or a euro in case he gets in.
BRYAN SMART IN BLAZING FORM
⭕ 4.35 Hamilton Blazing Son was an autumn winner last year over Elladora and trainer Bryan Smart has had three winners in the last week. BETDAQ 6.1 taken.
⭕ 5.40 Hamilton Talk about running wide -which we will inevitably see at the Curragh – Ask Peter failed to find better ground and dropped out of contention at Chelmsford.
But here she is back in trip over the CD where she got off the mark and beat another contender today, Aighear. BETDAQ 6.3 Ask Peter.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
