WEDNESDAY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: The Ultra previews REAL MADRID v MANCHESTER CITY with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
REAL MADRID V MANCHESTER CITY
8pm It’s the Champions League fixture we’ve all been waiting for on Wednesday night! Real Madrid and Manchester City clash again, and we’re bound to have plenty more drama on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. The tie was turned on its head in a matter of minutes last week, and now Manchester City have it all to do coming into the away leg one goal down. Pep Guardiola and City have suffered a lot this season, we’ve watched plenty of collapsed from them in leading positions that we just haven’t seen before. They have their backs to the wall here though now; it’ll be very interesting to see what type of performance we get.
We had an open market last week, but all the money was for Manchester City as they moved from 2.4 to close to 2.0 before kick-off. Real Madrid come into this game as the odds on favourites at 1.91 with Manchester City 3.9 and the draw is 4.5 at the time of writing. We had a very entertaining game last week – in fairness when these two meet we always get an excellent game – although it happened in dramatic fashion with goals in the 86th and 92nd minute, Real Madrid deserved to win in my opinion. They finished the game with a much higher xG and City took the lead through Haaland against the run of play at the time.
Real Madrid had a setback at the weekend in the La Liga title race having to settle for a draw away to Osasuna – that result has definitely opened the door for Barcelona in the title race again. Real are actually three La Liga games without a win at the moment. You could forgive them for having one eye on this tie though. One wonders will the Real Madrid fans make the same mistake that Manchester City fans made last week – that banner aimed at Vinicius Jr completely backfired – he was man of the match. I have to say I agree with Jamie Carragher; why do something like that before the game to just wind up a quality player like that?
Although Real Madrid have a one goal lead, I can’t see them sitting back here – it’s just not in their nature, especially with home advantage. We landed a Five Star NAP on Over 2.5 goals last week, and Overs is trading very short here in the 1.3’s. Last week it was in the low end of the 1.5 range! With a price like that, I’m happy to pass on the goals option here – it’s hard to see past a very open game though given City are behind. They have no option but to attack, and they have been quite poor at the back this season. For all the jokes made about Manchester United, City have conceded the same amount of Premier League goals this season.
Once again, I do expect a very entertaining and open game. With City being so easy to play through at times this season, plus the fact that Real finished with a much higher xG figure last week, I feel City chasing the game will gift chances to Real and I’m happy to back the home win at 1.91. I don’t see much value in the goal markets given the market is expecting a crazy game, and in my opinion the Real win is the best value position.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Real Madrid to beat Manchester City at 1.91 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
