CLASSIC DAQMAN LINE-UP: Daqman has 15 lined up for a Fortune Cookies tilt at the big May meetings of the Curragh, Longchamp and York, aiming at three more Guineas and beyond to the Derby and Royal Ascot.

TODAY: Three bets including a nap on the Newcastle card tonight.

THE FORTUNE COOKIES XV

CHALDEAN has been in and out of Fortune Cookies, finally getting control of his age group in the 2,000 Guineas, extending his Dewhurst Stakes supremacy over Royal Scotsman. Could bid for the Guineas double.

Auguste Rodin still has the Epsom Derby as his target, after suffering interference at Newmarket, making the race a ‘non-event’ for him, quote unquote trainer Aidan O’Brien.

Emily Dickinson and Adayar both won well, and Iresine is co-opted after a superb Ganay, with Bay Bridge and Vadeni likely to boost the form at the end of the month.

Tahiyra needed the run when outbattled by Mawj in the 1,000 Guineas and could have the Curragh version to herself, with Mawj more likely for Royal Ascot.

DEVIZING A PLAN

⭕ 2.20 Lingfield There are a couple of coin flips on today’s Lingfield card. Holy Fire v Beau Rock in the three runner opener and Dragon Icon (Varian) v Lion Turner (Gosdens) in the 4.00. Good luck if you can find an edge – I couldn’t, largely down to gauging how much improvement the lightly raced quartet are likely to find.

Devizes was slightly weak in the morning market but I just think it was more a case of the opening offers being too cagey.

Pat Phelan’s runner won really well at Kempton last time out after a lengthy 411 day break and the runner-up and third from that race both came out win their subsequent starts.

There’s always the ‘bounce’ factor to be wary of – even trainers struggle to have a concerted opinion as to why this can happen but purely on the formbook I’m quite happy to take my chance in field of mainly well exposed handicappers.

WAS A LIKELY NAP

⭕ 7.15 Newcastle On a moderate day’s racing Wasdale might be worth waiting for as the NAP of the day.

Julie Camacho’s runner is up another 4lb for his course and distance win last time out but seems progressive and can continue his good recent run (three wins from his last four starts) on a track he clearly goes well at.

Project Black is the main market rival on Betdaq Betting Exchange but quite a hard project to work out! There appeared to be no excuses from either trainer or vet after he flopped on his comeback run at Pontefract when favourite and the 24 length defeat can hardly be attributed to the soft ground as he was a previous soft ground winner at Redcar.

Maybe the switch back to the all-weather will help? He ran well here in December but has to be a watching brief for me on the back of that latest effort – especially as the trainer is currently 0-8.

On the limited form available Raven’s Up looks better on turf than all-weather but she might well be good enough to plug on for a place in this company.

ASDAA FOR VALUE

⭕ 8.45 Newcastle Windsor Pass bids to make it 16th time lucky for that elusive win but looks too short in the market for my liking. I’m not convinced the 1lb relief he gets from the handicapper after his latest fourth at Lingfield in the same grade as tonight is enough to warrant such a price tag.

Asdaa is a multiple winner – you just wouldn’t think it from his recent form figures. However he’s on the same mark that he was on when winning at Chelmsford in January and this looks an easier task.

He’s a point and shoot merchant so it’s a case of whether Charlie Johnston’s seven-year-old can build up a winning lead.

The stable are in good form and were buoyed by their 200/1 fifth in the 1,000 Guineas with Dance In The Grass who brought form figures of 76 going into the second Classic of the season!

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
