LONGCHAMP KEY AS MASSIVE MONDAY RELAUNCH GETS UNDER WAY: Is it really happening? France appears to be on course for their big restart. Resumption on Monday now awaits the declaration stages from a massive entry for three meetings, headed by Longchamp, mainly a trials day but with four Group-1 events altogether. Daqman is gearing up for the ‘off’ with a review of his betting plans, horses to follow and special articles on value. Attendez vous, s’il vous plait!

1,069 ENTRIES FOR FRANCE ON MONDAY

Horses: thousands of them! Just when we despaired of ever seeing another race, the French revealed last night that more than 1,000 entries have flooded in for Monday.

Trainers want to race 1,069 horses across the cards at Compiegne, Longchamp and Toulouse, the restart fixtures for the resumption of racing.

Initial entries for the trials meeting at Longchamp include the unbeaten Earthlight (Morny and Middle Park winner) and Victor Ludorum (Lagardere).

UK plans ‘Detailed’ English plans have been put to the government, which is expected to ease the lockdown in an announcement on Sunday.

But the predicted May 15 start was no longer assured, as the BHA declared the industry ‘ready to go’ but it was ‘not the right thing’ to come out and name a date.

‘Our aim is to guarantee that we are ready to go when given the green light.’

Irish hopes Ireland, still awaiting government approval, now looks to a new potential date for reopening, June 8, missing the scheduled May 23 and 24 dates for the Guineas.

HRI officials have been lobbying the government, amid warnings from trainers, notably Gordon Elliott, that many in the sport face ruin.

DAQMAN GEARS UP FOR BIG-VALUE HITS

The way we were. The Lingfield Derby Trial, which threw up last year’s Epsom hero, Anthony Van Dyck, and the magic of Chester are lost to us this week.

But, as Daqman reminisces about those 2019 meetings, it’s all part of his 2020 vision for racing’s return. It includes his famous big-value tipping methods, and here’s a reminder of how they produced winners at this time last season.

He is gearing up in the next few days with Fortune Cookies, ante-post bets and all – everything will be updated – ready for racing’s resumption next week in France (Monday) and hopefully England (Friday), sure to be attempting winners like these:

EARLY BIRDS Every year Daqman lists horses who are likely to win early in the season because they’ve done it before, because they don’t stand much training and have to win when fresh, or because their stables usually hit form in the first few weeks of the season.

Look out for any combo of the above, or Daqman’s special news from the home gallops, along with ‘hidden horses’ of the form book.

As soon as we get some runners, and his contacts come out of isolation and get their confidence back, Daqman will compile a list for what’s left of this unusual Spring. Hopefully, it will start like this one from his May 5th compilation last year:

Hermosa WON 14-1 (Newmarket 1,000 Guineas, then Irish 1,000: WON 5-2)

FORTUNE COOKIES Look out for the launch of Fortune Cookies 2020, a compilation of horses to follow for the Spring and Summer, with the accent on the Classics and Group races, particularly Royal Ascot.

The list published on May 7th, 2019, included advance warning on a pair of big winners for the top races at Newbury and Royal Ascot.

Mustashry WON 9-1 (Lockinge Stakes)
Dashing Willoughby WON 6-1 (Queen’s Vase)

BULL’S-EYE BETS It would have been Chester races this week, and last season it was another week of triumph for BETDAQ backers who found value on the exchange every day of the meeting, including Daqman’s tip:

Aquarium WON 13-2 (from 11.0 BETDAQ offers)

PRICEWISE CHALLENGE As well as Chester, we are missing the Lingfield Derby and Oaks Trials. Daqman bagged both winners a year ago on Saturday to take a 17-9 lead in his value challenge to Pricewise, who is number one of the 200 experts on the Racing Post.

Anapurna WON 7-4 (Lingfield Oaks Trial)
Anthony Van Dyck WON 2-1 (Lingfield Derby Trial)
