ALL DOWN TO GOLD FINISH: Willie Mullins beat Gordon Elliott 3-1 yesterday at the Irish jumps season’s finale Punchestown Festival, winning the Champion Chase in very fast time with Il Etait Temps. Mullins, who is 184-179 up, can take a certain lead on prizemoney for the season with a 1-2-3-4 bid in the Gold Cup this evening.

HE’S NOT AFRAID OF GOSDEN

⭕ 2.13 Pontefract Infraad was backed as if defeat was out of the question at Nottingham and trainer William Haggas has an excellent record at Pontefract, whereas it’s a bogey track for John Gosden (Leighton) and Asia Force didn’t show much of his sire Frankel’s ability on AW earlier this year.

⭕ 3.23 Pontefract Hugo Palmer, who landed the Esher Cup last week, thought a bit of Vincent Rocks last year and won twice with him in the summer.

The four-year-old showed up well in the class-2 Spring Mile at Doncaster at the opening of the Flat turf season. Drops two grades here, and Betdaq Betting Exchange offers of around 10.0 looked big.

WOOHOO! IT’S GOOD GOLDIE

⭕ 3.15 Musselburgh Katie Scott reckons her August winner over this Edinburgh CD – Curious Rover – is getting quicker.

She will want to catch him while he is on the right side of the handicapper.

Chester specialist Rosenpur is prepping for the May meeting there. The same could apply to Knicks.

Lisa Williamson hasn’t had a winner on the Flat for six months, but Sugar Hill Babe likes ground and track, and might be early.

Al Hussar has been third and fourth in big fields here this Spring and Grant Tuer is currently striking at 33%.

Jim Goldie had two big-odds winners here on Sunday but to have landed the 389-1 double you would have had to combine 13 runners from the stable.

Goldie, who gets on so well with sprinters, has just half a dozen here today, one of them claimed off by Lauren Young, who was among the Sunday strikes.

The mare she rides here is Woohoo, who likes top of the ground, landed a hat-trick last Spring, one of them here, one of them for Lauren. Tempting at 10.0 BETDAQ offers this morning.

WARRIOR PACKS THE PUNCH

⭕ 6.05 Punchestown (Gold Cup) There’s more than half-a-million euros waiting for Willie Mullins if he can land the 1–2-3-4.

He has four of the five running for gold but the odd one out – Inowayurthinkin – turned over his Galopin Des Champs when they met in the Cheltenham Gold Cup of 2025.

When the main Mullins’ contenders have met, the outcomes have been Gaelic Warrior U132, Fact To File 1201, but Gaelic Warrior’s overall Punchestown form is 1121; Fact Or File 142.
