MORE HEADLINE WINNERS FOR DAQMAN: Our man highlighted Ma Filleule (WON 9-4) for the feature BETDAQ race at Doncaster yesterday to give Daqman another big race winner following on from Don Poli (WON 1-2) in the Lexus Chase on Monday.

A CASE OF SECODITIS: On the 7 race BETDAQ bonanza at Doncaster yesterday, Daqman suffered a case of seconditis as he hit the crossbar on four occasions including Godsmejudge (2nd 10-1), advised for a win and place to add to the winnings on a frustrating day at the office.

MULLINS WITH A RARE TAUNTON RUNNER: Today, Daqman looks through the best of the races at Haydock and Taunton highlighted by the Listed Mares Novice Hurdle which features an interesting raider from the all conquering Willie Mullins yard.

VINTAGE CLOUDS SET FOR FOLLOW UP WIN

12.50 Haydock Experience could be key in this one. Morning Royalty has four Chase runs under his belt. Throthethatch has three. These two appear to the be the leaders for this race.

Morning Royalty, a Bumper winner for Willie Mullins, won by 10 lengths on his second start over fences at Cartmel. He drops back to two and a half here. Although he’s a slightly free going horse, he may just need the extra furlongs to be at his most effective. A mark of 120 is inviting however.

Throthethatch may have more improvement. He’s better judged on his first two Chase starts rather than his last run. He looked very much out of sorts that day. A return to the previous form could see him hard to beat in this one. Wins by three lengths and eight lengths respectively show his promise and a mark of 112 could be lenient if in the returning to that form.

1.25 Haydock The top three on the card are interesting in this Novice Hurdle. All look to be potential improvers and all look to have a fair amount of ability.

Despite almost falling two out over course and distance last time, Vintage Clouds ran out an impressive 9 length winner. He faltered first time out over the sticks but came good last month in emphatic style. Potentially, he is very good and although he’s probably a chaser in the making, his hurdling technique is good enough to see him contest some bigger races.

Flashjack and Bigmartre both look decent sorts and will be capable of winning a similar contest to this in the future. Vintage Clouds could be a step above though and they may have to play second fiddle.

2.00 Haydock Small stakes are advised in this marathon contest. It’s difficult to pick a winner in it but there are some proven sorts.

I like Kingswell Theatre. He seems to be a proper stayer in the making after two good wins. Last time, he never stopped galloping in very soft ground at Chepstow. At his fences, he stays low and economical, just what you need in a race this. Big, bold, flashy jumpers tend to take a lot out of themselves in heavy ground. Despite top weight, he’s the one for me.

2.30 Haydock Elenika and Friendly Royal appear to be the stand out ones in this.

Friendly Royal has been very consistent and with two wins from four chase starts, his form is certainly in the book. He’s gone up a further 3lbs since finishing second last time.

Elenika was left in front last time at Chepstow as he went on to a 34 length win. He may be a little underestimated here following three slightly lacklustre runs. Last season, he competed in some decent race and looked to be back in top shape last time.

A FIRST TAUNTON WIN FOR MULLINS

2.50 Taunton The Nap runs in this Listed Novice Hurdle at Taunton. It’s a very rare sight to see W.P. Mullins as the trainer of a runner at this track. Less so the rider, R. Walsh, who’s been here before.

Myska may need to improve on her jumping following her début win at Thurles. She won a good Bumper prior to that beating Miss Dinamic. There is nothing to prove here to say that she doesn’t have a very big engine but her jumping could be slicker. At times, she was brilliant at Thurles. Other times not so but I think she’ll have far too much for these.

Lifeboat Mona and Jessber’s Dream, to me, are the best of the rest. Both are vying for place money though and I would have a slight preference for Jessber’s Dream to improve a little more and be the biggest danger to the all powerful Mullins string.
