EUROPA LEAGUE THURSDAY: We preview Thursday’s Europa League semi-final second leg between MAN U and CELTA VIGO with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MANCHESTER UNITED V CELTA VIGO

8.05pm Jose Mourinho took the decision to rest players at the weekend away to Arsenal, and after a 2-0 loss their chances of a top four finish are all but gone – so the pressure to win the Europa League is even higher now. They are in a decent position after a 1-0 first leg win, a game in which they should have won by more and you’d assume that they will again outclass their Le Liga opponents.

The match odds at the time of writing currently stand at; Manchester United 1.57, Celta Vigo 7.4 and the draw is 4.3. If anything based on the first leg, United look too big at 1.57 – they looked vastly superior to Celta Vigo and should have won by more. However, we’ve seen so many draws at Old Trafford this season you have to ask yourself, is 1.57 a price worth backing?

It’s difficult to get a full read on Celta Vigo as they have seemingly given up on La Liga this season to focus on this tournament, and they were easily beaten 3-0 by Malaga at the weekend. We think it’s fair to judge this one based on what we saw in the first leg and it would be a surprise to see anything other than a home win.

The bet we like though is under 2.5 goals at 1.98 – United at 1.57 is appealing, however compared to unders at 1.98 – there’s no question where the value lies. United have only conceded once in their last four home games in the Europa League, and with them struggling to put sides away at home all season, the 1.98 on under 2.5 looks massive. It’s also really worth checking what prices a United 1-0 and 2-0 win are in the correct score market closer to kick off.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.98.
