HAYLEY TURNER: I think I have peaked to soon. I kicked it in the belly yesterday. It was day one and myself and the girls were over excited so we got on the champagne pretty early. Today I will pace myself, it’s a long week and I do wish to make it to the other side.

Here are my recommended bets for each race:

2.30 JERSEY STAKES – Remarkable at 10.5

Hopefully Rab Havlin can add to his Royal Ascot tally after riding his First Royal Ascot winner yesterday. Remarkable was a very raw horse when I watched him win at Southwell, the blinkers have helped him tune into racing. I believe he has plenty more up his sleeve.

3.05 QUEEN MARY – Kachess at 9.6

She looked a star filly when winning at Goodwood. I’d be delighted to see Tom Dascombe and Richard Kingscote have another Royal Ascot winner, they both won this race in 2012. Tom is very clued up so if there is money for her, I’d go with it.

3.40 DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE STAKES – Usherette at 3.3

With the sunshine out today the ground with be even more testing, it will be sticky and holding so Usherette having won over 1m1f proves she will stay. She has form at the top level. I think the 3lb penalty won’t be enough to stop her.

4.20 PRINCE OF WALES – A Shin Hikari at 1.67

Boring I know but, I can’t see past A Shin Hikari!

5.00 ROYAL HUNT CUP – Spirit Raiser at 26.0

I have to pick her because I have been riding her out a lot at home. She really has come to herself recently and showed that when winning easily at Nottingham a few weeks back. She hasn’t raced often on soft ground but she is stronger now, if she get through it she will have a great chance.

5.35 SANDRINGHAM HANDICAP – Diploma at 9.6

Every trainer wants a Royal Ascot winner but for Her Majesty it would be extra special, not only for them but for everyone watching. Diploma is lightly raced and is learning masses on each of her runs. She has sharpened up and is a stayer.
It would be a great way to round of day 2!
