PREVIEW
Tonight’s clash at Goodison Park looks one of the most competitive of the Premier League weekend. Everton, for a change, have started the season in really good form, while Newcastle are out to prove last year’s surprise fifth-place finish was no fluke.

David Moyes’ men have taken maximum points from their last five home games and the Toffees have won five of their last seven matches against the Magpies. Everton will also be out to continue a great Monday match run. They have won their last three matches on a Monday without conceding a single goal.

Defeat against West Brom last time out did end an 11-match unbeaten run for Everton, but they will fancy their chances of taking all three points versus a team that has won just two of their last seven league games.

Alan Pardew’s side will be looking at the likes of Senegalese strike-duo Papa Cisse and Demba Ba to fire them to victory as Newcastle search for their 1000th goal since the Premier League began.

Their season has had a touch of the déjà vu about it as their first two away games this campaign – Chelsea and Everton – were their final two of last season. Everton triumphed 3-1 that day and they can prove that loss to West Brom was just a blip by sending Newcastle home without a point.
