PREVIEW

Brazil finally came alive in their closing Group B match with a 4-2 win over Ecuador which took them to the top of the section and confirmed their quarter-final berth.

Two goals apiece from AC Milan forward Pato and Santos’ wanted man Neymar saw Brazil home and Mano Menezes’ side will be confident of continuing their progress at Paraguay’s expense tonight.

Brazil needed a last minute equaliser from Fred to earn a draw in the group stage against Paraguay, but after finding form, they will be confident of seeing their opponents off this time.

The five-time World Cup winners are gunning for their eighth Copa America title and a hat-trick of tournament wins. As the game’s 1.67 favourites they should take a step nearer to realising that dream against 6.2 underdogs Paraguay.

The Paraguayans haven’t hit top gear yet – and might not get the chance. They drew all three of their pool fixtures, including a 3-3 draw with Venezuela in the last one after conceding goals in the 89th and 92nd minute.

Any more lapses in concentration will be punished by Brazil and the jollies look worth backing to advance to the semi finals.
