PREVIEW
It seems a long time since Real Sociedad surprised nearly everyone when finishing runners-up in La Liga in the 2002-2003 season, but they failed to build on that and the Basque club has had mixed fortunes in recent years.
After finishing last term in 12th-place they find themselves ninth this season after 16 games, three points above tonight’s rivals Sevilla.
Sevilla are on a desperate run of form, losing seven and winning just one of their last ten league games. Successive Uefa Cups in the mid-2000s are a distant memory and manager Michel Gonzalez finds himself under pressure from the fans.
However, Los Rojiblancos have a great recent record against Sociedad, winning five of the last seven, including three at Anoeta Stadium. They will find their supporters at around 3.2 on BETDAQ but football is all about form and they are opposable.
Sociedad haven’t lost in the league since early November, an unbeaten run that includes three wins, two away at Malaga and Valencia, and a 4-0 thrashing of Rayo Vallecano.
