Juventus, and indeed Italian football, is on a bit of a retrieval mission as, with the exception of Jose Mourinho’s Inter Milan in 2009-2010, sides from the country have disappointed in Europe’s elite tournament of late.
But the Old Lady were impressive in the group stages, remaining unbeaten, including a win over Chelsea in Turin, and topping a group that also included Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Nordsjaelland. In Serie A, Antonio Conte’s side are five points clear and look on course to claim back-to-back titles.
The absence of Rangers from the Scottish Premier League has made another Hoops league title inevitable but they have still contrived to lose four league games and have exited the Scottish League Cup.
Yet, all football fans are well aware of the unique atmosphere on European nights at Celtic Park and as well as that defeat of Barcelona, the 1967 European champions have defeated the likes of AC Milan, Manchester United and tonight’s rivals in recent years on home turf.
They’ve won their last seven home games and Juve have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four away games, but this is likely to be a tight game and backing the draw at half-time at around 2.19 on BETDAQ might be the safest option.
