Thierry Henry’s winner at the Stadium of Light last Saturday saw that Arsenal travelled to Italy in high spirits ahead of their huge game against AC Milan. The Gunners have had some memorable matches at the San Siro and the last game against Milan proved no different with two late goals to seal the win.
Arsene Wenger will have been relieved to have snatched a late winner at Sunderland as the Gunners’ recent away form has really let them down. Before the trip to Wearside, the Gunners were held to a goalless draw at Bolton and they cannot afford a similar performance in Milan. Arsenal did top Group F, but they proved inconsistent when away from the Emirates.
The Gunners won only one of their three away group games and they lost their most recent trip to Olympiacos 3-1 on the final match day. Robin Van Persie remains in great form with 22 league goals this season, and he has three in five in this year’s Champions League.
AC Milan finished comfortable runners-up to Barcelona, but won two of their three group games at the San Siro. Domestically Milan are top of Serie A, but have suffered a blip coming into this game. Milan’s 2-1 win over Udinese at the weekend ended a run of three straight games without a victory.
Arsenal have a good record at the ground and Milan’s past few matches suggest the Gunners can take a draw from the game. Punters can get 3.4 on BETDAQ for the sides to be level at the final whistle.
