Chelsea are on the verge of becoming the first ever holders of the Champions League to exit at the group stages. The Blues must win against FC Nordsjaelland – trading at around 27 on BETDAQ – and hope Shakhtar Donetsk beat Juventus in Ukraine to reach the next round.
You could argue now is a good time to play the Rafael Benitez’s side as the interim manager has yet to win in three attempts as boss and Fernando Torres and co have only notched one goal in that time. The fans have made no secret of their displeasure at Rafa’s appointment and it’s questionable whether the players even want the former Liverpool manager at the helm, considering their close relationship with the axed Roberto Di Matteo.
FC Nordsjaelland haven’t won in Europe since beating Queen of the South in 2008. They’ve lost four of their five games so far this term but did draw with Juventus. Three late goals flattered Chelsea’s performance in Denmark when they ran out 4-0 winners.
You’d have to be a brave punter to smash into Chelsea at very skinny odds of around 1.13 on BETDAQ with so many questions hanging over the west London club. Instead, at a fair looking price, of around 1.85 on BETDAQ, take the Danes at +2.5 on the Asian handicap.
Chelsea will need to win by three goals – a tough ask they way they are playing at the moment – to scupper us.
