MATCH POINT WIMBLEDON: Our tennis tipping column has a new bet for Wimbledon adding to the his pre-tournament bets which included Djokovic to win the Men’s title.

Time to update the Wimbledon portfolio ahead of the Women’s Semi-Finals on Thursday.

The pre-tournament bets haven’t gone too well – only Djokovic remains from the four recommended bets but if he manages to go on and win the title for a fifth time – that will ensure a profit on the Men’s side.

We were on at 2.5 on BETDAQ and he’s contracted to around 1.78 with the final looking pretty much nailed on if, as expected, he cruises past Roberto Bautista Agut – the surprise package of the last four.

The Women’s looks less promising – we’re 6 points down after Ashleigh Barty and Angelique Kerber both disappointed.

At this point, I think Serena Williams looks a little short in the market and I want to take her on.

The seven-times champion might be only two wins away from slam title No 24 but her recent lack of match play is beginning to show and her three set win over fellow American Alison Riske was made substantially easier by a ridiculous number of unforced errors from Riske.

Williams has increased her matchplay in the doubles – the partnership with Andy Murray coming to an end on Wednesday which leaves her free to concentrate on a potentially tricky semi-final against Barbora Strycova who knocked out Britain’s Johanna Konta in the quarter-finals to progress to her first Grand Slam semi-final.

Realistically though, it’s more likely to be either Elina Svitolina or Simona Halep, the number 7 and 8 seeds, that we need to come to our rescue on Saturday with a recommended LAY of Serena Williams at around 2.06.
