Ireland v Serbia

HEAD TO HEAD RECORD
(Max last 10 only)
Aug 2012 International Serbia 0 – 0 Ireland
May 2008 International Ireland 1 – 1 Serbia

PREVIEW
We got the match bet at Southwell right yesterday for a profit of 8 points.

Back to the football and there’s not much to choose between Ireland and Serbia and certainly not many goals either in the two previous head to heads.

Friendlies are often a time for experimentation which means punting comes with a wealth warning to some degree.

Certainly that appears it could be the case at the Aviva tonight with Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill suggesting that he may opt for a new central defensive partnership and leave John O’Shea (93 caps) on the bench. There has been no recall for Shay Given or Stephen Ireland and most significantly record scorer Robbie Keane is sidelined.

Both teams have relatively new managers who are enjoying early honeymoon promise.

Serbia missed out on a World Cup spot but performed with credit in the qualifiers with wins against Wales, Macedonia and Japan together with creditable draws against Croatia and Russia.

Martin O’Neill’s tenure has started with a 3-0 win against Latvia and a 0-0 draw against Poland.

The draw, again, could be the best BETDAQ option.
