PREMIER LEAGUE SATURDAY: We preview Saturday’s Premier League games with a recommended BETDAQ bet including the opening North London derby TOTTENHAM v ARSENAL at 12.30pm.

TOTTENHAM V ARSENAL

12.30pm What a way to start a Premier League weekend! Arsenal have a huge amount of questions to answer coming into this North London Derby, and an embarrassing defeat will see even more calls for Wenger to go. Spurs are in top form going into this game, and are rightly clear favourites – they aren’t odds on though, with the match odds at the time of writing: Tottenham 2.08, Arsenal 3.7 and the draw is 3.9. It’s fair to say that Arsenal have been terrible away from home this season, and while their intensity levels may rise for this derby, it’s difficult to see them winning here – indeed they’ve lost their last two away games to Swansea and Bournemouth! It’s tempting to back plenty of goals here, however we can’t get away from Spurs at 2.08 as that looks cracking value to start the day.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Tottenham to beat Arsenal at 2.08.

EVERTON V CRYSTAL PALACE

3pm Everton suffered an embarrassing loss to Arsenal last weekend and afterwards Sam Allardyce had some harsh words for his team. Apart from a home win against Leicester, who sometimes struggle away, they haven’t been great lately and prior to that Leicester game they could only manage a 1-1 draw with West Brom. They just aren’t playing fluid football at the moment and against a Palace team who have only lost twice in their last 15 games, Everton look too short at 2.32. Palace have been very tough to beat since Hodgson put his stamp on the side and with Everton struggling for form, we’re happy to lay the home side at 2.32.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Everton at 2.32.

STOKE V BRIGHTON

3pm Stoke were beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth last weekend away from home, however since Paul Lambert came in, they are unbeaten in two home games and are yet to concede a goal. The signs from Stoke are promising since the new manager came in, and looking at Brighton’s away record – this is an excellent chance for Stoke to get three points. Brighton have only won twice in their last 15 league games, and both of those wins came at home. Away from home, they are without a win in seven and have lost five of those games. We feel that this is a good time to back Stoke, and at 2.24 they looks very good value.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Stoke to beat Brighton at 2.24.

SWANSEA V BURNLEY

3pm Swansea are on the up! After beating Liverpool and Arsenal here, they then went and banged in eight goals against Notts County in the FA Cup on Tuesday night. Including FA Cup games, they are now unbeaten in their last six games, and have realistic hopes of staying up – something you wouldn’t have said a month ago. They meet Burnley at a good time here too, although they did manage to draw with Manchester City at the weekend. They are still without a win in their last nine games though, and six games away from home. This is bound to be a very tight affair, however with Swansea in such good form and Burnley on a winless run – laying Burnley at 3.5 looks good value.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Burnley at 3.5.

WEST HAM V WATFORD

3pm Where did the 4-1 win over Chelsea come from!? Many people will be asking that question having seen Watford play over the last few weeks. Maybe it is a sign of what’s wrong at Chelsea rather than Watford being impressive, and it will be interesting to see how they play here. We have a very open market, with West Ham 2.6, Watford 3.05 and the draw 3.4 at the time of writing. While Watford have shown signs of life under new management, so have West Ham. They have lost just once in their last seven home games under Moyes, and have had some decent results away too. Moyes has certainly made them difficult to beat, and with Watford struggling in general this season we’re happy to lay the away side at 3.05.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Watford at 3.05.

MANCHESTER CITY V LEICESTER

5.30pm The only team who are odds on to win at the time of writing this preview are Manchester City, as they currently trade 1.24! That looks short, however we have seen some very short prices on City this season and you wouldn’t have made much laying them! The interesting market here is obviously the handicap market, as Leicester have managed to find the net in seven of their last eight games and the two goal Asian Handicap market is trading around 2.0. It’s hard to see City blowing away Leicester given their form in recent weeks, they are still vastly better than everyone in the Premier League however there are signs that teams can stop them. Liverpool scored four against them, and Burnley managed to hold them to a draw last weekend. We feel that Leicester can keep in touch and score at some stage too, so with a two goal Asian Handicap we’re happy to take the 2.0 on Leicester.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Leicester +2 goals Asian Handicap to beat Manchester City at 2.0.
