PREMIER LEAGUE: We preview Sunday’s two Premier League games with extended stats and recommended BETDAQ bets. It’s BOURNEMOUTH v ARSENAL (1.30pm) and WOLVES v HUDDERSFIELD (4pm).

BOURNEMOUTH V ARSENAL

1.30pm We have a new look Arsenal side this season and this should prove another test for “New Arsenal.” Bournemouth have been playing some really good football this season and they’re flying high up in sixth position prior to any games this weekend. They’re only four points behind Arsenal however they did lose their last two games prior to the International break. They were unlucky to lose here against Manchester United however it was very disappointing to see them lose to Newcastle the weekend after. Arsenal have drawn their last three however one of these came against Liverpool; but you’d have to be a little disappointed with draws at home against Sporting Lisbon and Wolves.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Bournemouth 3.8, Arsenal 2.06 and the draw is 3.9. This is a very tricky fixture for Arsenal; however they usually find a way to beat Bournemouth. They’ve won four of their last six Premier League meetings however Bournemouth have impressed us this season and it’s very tempting to lay Arsenal at 2.06. They have proven to be a very tough to beat this season and with Arsenal only drawing away to Crystal Palace recently too, who have been playing poorly, we’re happy to lay the Gunners at the odds. We expect a closer game than those odds suggest.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Arsenal at 2.06.

MATCH STATS

  • Bournemouth have won just one of their six Premier League Premier League meetings with Arsenal (D1 L4), though it was in their last such match (2-1 in January).
  • Arsenal have never failed to score in their seven previous meetings with Bournemouth in all competitions, netting 17 goals in total.
  • Bournemouth have lost their last two Premier League games, as many as they had in their previous 12 in the competition (W8 D2 L2).
  • After a run of 25 Premier League games without a draw, Arsenal’s last three in the competition have all ended level. The Gunners have conceded first in all three.
  • Arsenal have scored at least twice in each of their last five Premier League away games. Only once have they had a longer such run in the competition (7 between December 2010-April 2011).
  • Bournemouth lost their last home Premier League match against Man Utd – they’ve not lost consecutive games at the Vitality Stadium since August 2017.
  • Arsenal have scored more goals via substitutes than any other team in the Premier League this season (7). Indeed, six of their last 10 goals in the competition have been scored by subs.
  • Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has scored in all three of his Premier League appearances against Arsenal – only Charlie Austin (4/4) has a better 100% record against the Gunners.
  • Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser has six assists in 12 Premier League games this season – no player has ever recorded more in a single top-flight campaign for the Cherries.
  • Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored 13 goals in his 15 Premier League matches played on Sunday, accounting for 76% of his total strikes in the competition (13/17).

WOLVERHAMPTON V HUDDERSFIELD

4pm Huddersfield recorded a massive 1-0 win over Fulham prior to the International break and followed it up with a point against West Ham. They has taken them off rock bottom and put them into a fight with a handful of teams to stay up. They could be under massive pressure here after seeing the results at the weekend but it’s so tight at the bottom a win would still be massive. They just haven’t been scoring enough goals to win games this season though and no doubt they would have been working on that over the break.

Wolves are odds on favourites with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Wolverhampton 1.51, Huddersfield 9.0 and the draw is 4.4. Wolves were able to hold Arsenal to a draw before the International break and they nearly came back against Spurs but ultimately lost 3-2 in their last game here. They look a class above sides like Huddersfield and they have done great business in the summer – we expect a smooth home win here and we’re happy to take the 1.51.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Wolverhampton at 1.51.
