WEDNESDAY PREMIER LEAGUE: One match in the Premier League on Wednesday. It’s Southampton v Tottenham – a wide open encounter according to the BETDAQ market.

Southampton v Tottenham

7.45pm A superb clash to look forward to on Wednesday night as Spurs travel to Southampton and it’s not a surprise to see the match odds market so open. At the time of writing Southampton are 3.0, Spurs 2.72 and the draw 3.3.

Spurs have recently been putting away teams without much fuss that they would have been expected to beat prior to kick off, beating the likes of Swansea, Hull and Burnley. However they have come up short against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United, and Southampton away should prove to be a good indicator on how they are playing at the moment and whether they can keep the pressure on for a top 4 spot over the Christmas period.

Southampton have come through a poor patch recently losing to Crystal Palace and Hull, while also going out of the Europa League. Since then they’ve beaten Middlesbrough and Bournemouth though to steady the ship, however bar the Bournemouth game they have been struggling for goals without Charlie Austin, and that’s what could hurt them here.

We expect this to be a very cagey affair, and don’t really like to look of either team in terms of the match odds market. We prefer to back under 2.5 goals at 1.75 – Southampton are good enough at the back to keep Spurs at bay for most of the game while we can’t see Southampton scoring too much without Austin. It’s also worth checking out what price 0-0 is in the correct score market closer to kick off.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.75.
