SHAMROCK MAKES IT 7 WINNING NAPS FROM 10: SHAMROCK made it 7 winning naps from the last 10 at Limerick yesterday with HOLD THE LINE and also recommended MOTH, win and place, in the 1000 Guineas who was third at 9/1.

Two winning bets from three yesterday.

I was delighted with the run of Moth in the 1000 Guineas. She was well backed in the race and found plenty of trouble in running but stayed on in grand style to finish third at 9/1 (around 3.8 on the BETDAQ place market) and in doing so enhanced her claims no end for the Oaks.

The nap was a short priced winner yesterday – but it was still the 7th winning nap from the last 10 and only two have been odds-on.

The current sequence of NAPS is:

Tue 23 April MOYLE PARK (NAP) WON 7/4
Fri 26 April UN DE SCEAUX (NAP) WON 5/4
Sat 27 April DIAKALI (NAP) WON EVENS
Sun 28 April SHARP CRISP AIR (NAP) 2nd
Tue 30 April KANDINSKI (NAP) 2nd
Wed 1 May STUCCODOR (NAP) WON EVENS
Thu 2 May BAINNE (NAP, place) 6th
Fri 3 May MAJENTA (NAP) WON 100/30
Sat 4 May LIVING NEXT DOOR (NAP) WON 8/11
Sun 5 May HOLD THE LINE (NAP) WON 4/11

* on days in between there was either no NAP or it was a non runner

All eyes will be back on multiple Classic hero Camelot on his eagerly anticipated return to action in the High Chaparral European Breeders Fund Mooresbridge Stakes at the Curragh today.

The winner of the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and both the English and Irish Derbies last season he went in search of the elusive Triple Crown but only just came up short in the St Leger.

He then disappointed in the Arc when subsequently found to be suffering from colic.

Camelot’s only serious opponent today is the Jim Bolger-trained Parish Hall, who won the Group One Dewhurst Stakes as a juvenile and made a winning return from well over a year off in the Alleged Stakes over this course and distance.

On a card where nothing stands out at bigger odds it’s a short nap again today. Michaelmas ran really well on debut when second at Leopardstown and will take all the beating in the opener where he should put his experience to good use against four unraced rivals.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Michaelmas (2.15 Curragh)
