A DOZEN WINNING NAPS: from the last 17. SHAMROCK’s NAP run goes on…. and on – it’s now WWW22W6WWWW2LWWWW. DUNTLE (NAP) WON 8/13 brought up the dozen on Sunday from the last 17 – a 70% strike rate !! For good measure he also tipped GOOD PRETENDING (for a place) who WON AT 6/1.

DUNTLE won well to land the NAP at Leopardstown on Sunday and the place bet GOOD PRETENDING WON at 6/1 (wish I’d recommended the win now – of course !!)

We’re now 12 winning naps from the last 17….

* On days in-between there was either no nap selection or it was a non runner.

I was delighted with Duntle and Great Pretending yesterday and their wins.

But I also recommended a third bet – an ante-post bet on Battle Of Marengo – in the hope that he would win impressively and we’d be left with either a good bet, or at least a trade.

We were left we neither. The horse won – but not impressively enough to warrant a contraction in price and my recommendation now is to close out the bet if you can, at the same price, to get your stake back.

I’m slightly nervous about today – firstly, because I’m going for number THIRTEEN in the current sequence and secondly, because when I hit four in-a-row before in the sequence – the run was snapped when bidding for 5 on the spin AND most importantly Killarney is tough tonight !!!

There’s the pressure to keep a sequence going, but also the more important pressure of trying to extract a profit on a day where nothing stands out.

There is an option for the nap – but it’s a short price option. I’m playing in the PLACE market in the finale. Afatcat has already run three good races in bumpers including first time up with today’s rider Rachel Blackmore onboard and came closest to winning last time out at Gowran.

I would love to put him up in the win market but there’s one thing stopping me. The debutant (under rules) Bishops Road who has to be respected and I don’t want to see my naps run ended in a race where I have taken a gamble and assumed he isn’t going to win on debut.
