TWO NAPS IN A ROW: SHAMROCK kept his fan club happy yesterday with back to back winning NAPS! WINTER (NAP) WON 7/4 after PRINCE CHARMIN’ (NAP) WON 15/8 on Saturday. Two winners from just two bets!

Winter arrived early at Dundalk yesterday with the David Wachman trained Winter winning at 7/4 and landing the SHAMROCK NAP (and only bet) for the second day running !!!

Sat: PRINCE CHARMIN’ (NAP) WON 15/8
Sun: WINTER (NAP) WON 7/4

Fingers crossed for the NAPS hat-trick today.

They race at Roscommon tonight with a seven race flat card underway at 5.20 on expected good to yielding ground.

Ger Lyons looked to have a sound chance of a double in the first two races before Mack Attack was withdrawn from the opener this morning. That leaves Zorion, a Smart Strike debutant, as the clear market leader for Jim Bolger. He owes his position much to the paucity of opposition amongst those who have ran and shown very little.

Crocodile Shoes is my nap on the card in the 6.50. Aidan O’Brien’s runner was hampered leaving the stalls at Leopardstown last time out and didn’t really improve on what he had shown on debut at Killarney. However, he is clearly held in some regard and has an entry for this weekend’s Irish St Leger Trial Stakes (Group 3) at the Curragh.

This shouldn’t take much winning. Finian’s Bay was beaten nine and a half lengths when second on debut and I have most to fear from the Mick Halford trained newcomer Karadeniza who certainly has the ideal pedigree for this.
