NOW 7 NAPS FROM 9: SHAMROCK landed his 7th WINNING NAP FROM THE LAST 9 with DEATH DUTY (NAP) WON 1/2, a 16 length winner at Down Royal on Saturday.

Short odds but Death Duty made no mistakes and won in the style of a horse with a big future when scampering clear to win the bumper at Down Royal yesterday.

The current naps sequence is now 7 winners from the last 9:

Thu: DANI THEATRE (NAP) WON 2/5
Fri: TAKE COVER (NAP) WON 3/1
Sat: BLUE DE VEGA (NAP) WON 11/10
Sun: WAITAKI (NAP) lost
Mon: Non Runner
Tue: DON’T TOUCH IT (NAP) WON 2/5
Wed: INDRAHAR (NAP) WON 4/5
Thu: ROMAN GOLD (NAP) WON 11/8
Fri: CLEAR CUT (NAP) 2nd
Sat: DEATH DUTY (NAP) WON 1/2

Jumps racing from Cork (Grand National day) and Naas on Sunday.

12 runners go to post for the Cork Grand National over 3m 4f at 3.35 including the Aidan O’Brien trained King Leon. The Ballydoyle maestro struck twice at the Breeders’ Cup with Hit It A Bomb and Found who lowered the colours of Golden Horn in the Breeders’ Cup Turf last night.

The worry for King Leon, for me, is his jumping. He is still inclined to make errors and can also throw in the odd inexplicably poor run. A safer proposition might be the Noel Meade trained Tulsa Jack who won well over 3m 1f at Gowran Park last time out and could be even better over this marathon trip.

For the nap I’m going to the opener at Naas and Marakoush who looks an interesting jumping recruit. He was lightly raced on the flat when trained by John Oxx but was placed in all five starts and finished up with an easy win at Ballinrobe. He could easily make the running here and make all.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Marakoush (1.05 Naas)
NEXT BEST: Tulsa Jack (3.35 Cork)
