5 OUT OF 7 NAPS: SHAMROCK couldn’t end the week with a winner with his nap Leitir Mor, second yesterday, but still made it five winning naps on the week including ROMAN FLIGHT WON 100/30 on Friday.

Ballinrobe stage a mixed card on Monday evening and in the 6.30 Cloudracer looks to have been presented with an easy task. She showed her liking for the ground with an all the way success at Wexford last time out and although off the course for 283 days should still be good enough to account for Mojita who has been a beaten favourite in her last two races. The race, as the BETDAQ market suggests, looks a match.

Jim Bolger let me down with the nap yesterday and he has a strong contender in the 7.00 with Miss Forde who chased home the very smart Duntle at Dunalk on debut (all be it an amazing 19 lengths back in second !) and then filled the same position at Wexford last time out. Curia Regis, who runs in the colours of Sheikh Mohammed, may prove a big danger. She improved with each run last season and could have a little more class.

I’m not convinced about Darroun at odds-on in the 8.00. For me he is a horse that is going backwards and it would be a danger to get too drawn in by his earlier form which included a Leopardstown win and a fourth in a Grade One at Punchestown. He was well beaten at Auteuill last time and is unproven on this firmer ground. All these things combined make me a layer rather than a player at the current 1.83 on BETDAQ.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Curia Regis (7.00 Ballinrobe)
NEXT BEST: Cluidracer (6.30 Ballinrobe)
LAY: Darroun (8.00 Ballinrobe)
