NAPS HAT-TRICK FOR SHAMROCK: Shamrock has sprayed the nap across a range of prices this week, all winners: Lastkingofscotland (WON 4-1), Hats And Heels (WON 5-6) and Hada Men (won 1-6). Back on home soil at Fairyhouse today, he hopes to make it four.

Form figures 1211. That’s champion-trainer Willie Mullins’ record in the bumper at Fairyhouse today, and I think Dr Machini (3.40) will add to his tally and land my fourth consecutive nap.

Dr Machini was well backed on his debut but came up against a subsequent first-time hurdles winner in, A County Girl, and his second still looks commendable.

Today’s card is often a Mullins’ benefit but it’s a tall order to ask Our Monty (1.00) to beat the youngsters in this rated hurdle, for which Dooney Rock comes out on top.

Our Monty hasn’t been seen since his Cork National win of more than two years ago and is headed for the Thyestes and Leopardstown Chases. The handicapper couldn’t stop That’ll Do Me last time but the total rise of 32lb might.

With That’ll Do Me at 3.1 and Our Monty 3.9 in an overround of only 109%, I think you must get an early position on this race: the top rating will do for me; so that ‘s Dooney Rock at 7.4.

Aitmatov (1.30) also looks long in the tooth for the task these days and Rathlin’s jumping has been below standard.

So, again, I’m leaving vulnerable favourites behind and turning to Harpsy Cord (8.8.). Goes extremely well fresh and his Point and hurdles wins have been a bonus on the way to his chase career, which starts today.

It’s The Ice I Like (2.35) has gone clear of the field in the market for the maiden hurdle, so is another banker for Daq Multiples to go with Dr Machini.
