SHAMROCK AT THE CURRAGH: SHAMROCK previews the two big races on this afternoon’s card at the Curragh where the going is expected to be GOOD.
They race at the Curragh and Killarney this afternoon.
There are two good races to look forward to at the Curragh.
3:10 Renaissance Stakes (Group 3) (3yo+, Class 1, 6f, 9 runners)
A very open looking sprint and interesting to note the morning support for Russian Soul who won the race last year in a blanket finish. Maarek is another previous winner of this race but preference is for the Kevin Ryan trained Hamza who was a course and distance third to Scream Blue Murder in another Group 3 earlier this month.
4:20 Irish Field Curragh Stakes (Listed) (2yo, Class 1, 5f, 7 runners)
It’s a little leap of faith but I was very taken by the debut of the Ger Lyon’s trained Ainippe when she won her maiden in superb style at Naas. Aidan O’Brien’s Simply A Star was in behind that day and Ainippe is sure to improve and can handle the step up in class.
