SHAMROCK AT LEOPARDSTOWN: To preview the two pattern races on the card on Saturday. Testing going is likely.

Leopardstown tweeted this morning: “SOFT, SOFT TO HEAVY IN PLACES, no overnight rain. Dry this morning with likelihood of rain mid-afternoon.”

2:35 JRA Killavullan Stakes (Group 3) (2yo, Class 1, 7f, 7 runners)

Aidan O’Brien and Dermot Weld have enjoyed a virtual monopoly on this race in recent years but that might be snapped today.

The Paul Deegan trained Shining Emerald is progressing very nicely and relished the heavy ground to win a Listowel maiden by 16 lengths. Repeat… 16 lengths.

He then went onto win a Listed race at the Curragh with ease.

With his liking for the ground he looks very much the one to be on.

3:45 Trigo Stakes (Listed) (3yo+, Class 1, 1m 2f, 10 runners)

A race where the majority have had their limitations exposed except for one runner, Tarana, who hasn’t been seen since winning a Curragh maiden over months ago. In a race with many question marks she could be the play.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Shining Emerald (2.35 Leopardstown)
NEXT BEST: Tarana (3.45 Leopardstown)
