Grecian Tiger (WON 4/5) landed the nap in comfortable fashion in the maiden hurdle at Listowel yesterday. It’s now 5 winning naps from the last 7.
Listowel race again today and the ground has got better as the week has gone on. It’s now only soft.
It’s an all-jumps card on Saturday and my best bet is the Edward O’Grady trained Prince Kup in the maiden hurdle at 3.30.
He was a Longchamp winner on the flat on soft ground and ran well on his jumps debut at Cork when second to The Living Beauty at Cork when the ground was soft to heavy. He has been given a break and will come back a fresh horse for this challenge.
The Edward O’Grady trained Oighear Dubh is the obvious big danger after his second to Time For Mabel at Ballinrobe last time out. He is another who will relish the testing conditions.
