SHAMROCK AT NAVAN: SHAMROCK bids to follow up yesterday’s winning NAP at Navan on Saturday.
Yesterday’s NAP (and only bet) WAKEA made all the running to win the opener at Down Royal by an easy 13 lengths. He was sent off at 8/13.
They race at Navan on Saturday with an eight race card underway at 1.55pm.
Best best of the day looks to come in the closing 10 furlong maiden at 5.55pm.
I’m very keen on the chances of the Ger Lyons trained Lustrous Light who was sent off favourite on debut here earlier in the month and ran a close third (beaten two necks) to New Classicism. He stayed on strongly inside the final furlong suggesting that the extra trip here should prove ideal.
The Aidan O’Brien trained Cockatoo Island was fourth that day and also staying on well but has three lengths to find on the selection.
Raconteur has finished third in both of his starts and could well pick up place money again today. He drops back in trip having finished third to the odds-on Cole Porter over 1m 4f at Leopardstown last time out.
