SPEEDSTER ACAPULCO FOR CURRAGH GLORY: Acapulco makes her debut for Aidan O’Brien at the Curragh this afternoon in the Listed Sole Power Sprint Stakes at 2.55pm.

Fascinating to see Acapulco strut her stuff in the Listed Sole Power Sprint Stakes at the Curragh this afternoon.

It’s an afternoon of firsts for her. First start in Ireland, first start for Aidan O’Brien and first time partnered by Donnacha O’Brien.

We already know how speedy she is. We saw that at Royal Ascot in 2015 when she came clear to win the Queen Mary Stakes and followed that up with a creditable runner-up to Mecca’s Angel on softer ground at York in the Nunthorpe Stakes. She hasn’t been seen since finishing sixth in a Grade 3 at Santa Anita in November.

She has entries in all the top sprints and should really land this today en route to bigger prizes even if she is not fully wound up.

Ardhoomey has the benefit of a recent run and a good one it was too when he was a neck second to Washington DC at Navan. He will pounce on any fitness concerns with Acapulco.
