FAIRYHOUSE AND CORK: Easter Sunday sees racing in Ireland over the jumps at Fairyhouse and Cork.

The Easter Festival at Fairyhouse gets underway at 1.50pm on good to yielding ground which has been well-watered.

Two Grade 1 races on Sunday’s card ahead of the Irish Grand National on Monday.

2.50pm: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Novice Hurdle Championship Final (Grade 1)

This looks a terrific renewal and the key form line is obviously the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival won by 50/1 shot Eglantine Du Seuil who is back today renewing rivalry with Tintangle (3rd) and Black Tears (4th). Willie Mullins has a superb record in this and you get the feeling he wants to win it again with just the seven runners !! Ruby Walsh rides Eglantine Du Seuil.

The Davy Russell ridden Black Tears got a bump just before the last at Cheltenham but for which she might well have been closer and at around 4.2 on the BETDAQ place market could be the value play here.

Honeysuckle (DAQMAN’S SUPERNAP) should come into this the freshest horse having by-passed both Cheltenham and Aintree. Although up in grade, she is hard to quantify as she stormed home to maintain her unbeaten record when winning a Grade 3 here in January. She still could be ‘anything’ but if she bolts up we will still have two places up for grabs with the place NAP strategy.
