GALWAY AND LEOPARDSTOWN: Stage the racing in Ireland on Sunday with earlier start times due to the clocks changing overnight. SHAMROCK’S best bet of the day runs at Leopardstown.
A really disappointing day on the tipping front yesterday.
There are two Listed races at Leopardstown this afternoon – the first at 2.15, thetote.com Knockaire Stakes.
The race really revolves around the fitness of last year’s winner Francis Of Assisi from Aidan O’Brien’s yard. He’s been off the course for a whole year since winning this by a length and a half on soft ground.
The ground is only marginally better today. Fitness is unlikely to be an issue and he is taken to record back to back wins.
In the thetote.com Eyrefield Stakes at 2.50 I am taking the Dermot Weld trained colt Zafilani to follow up on his debut success at Tipperary and remain unbeaten. The ground is softer today but he won well and the second went on to boost the form since.
