BUSY SUNDAY AT NAAS AND CORK: SHAMROCK looks at the big races under both codes at Naas and Cork on Sunday.

3.15 Naas: Clodovil E.B.F. Garnet Stakes (Fillies’ Listed) Three-year-old’s have a good record here but that doesn’t help us much as it only rules out two of the 13 runners. Things have not gone to plan for Rasmeyaa who was held in the highest regard by trainer Dermot Weld after her easy maiden win at Leopardstown but then disappointed when 14th of 15 in the 1000 Guineas. She did however show she was on the way back with an excellent run after a break to finish third to Fiesolana at Tipperary last time out in a Group 3. She’ll appreciate the give in the ground and Weld has a good record here.

SELECTION: Rasmeyaa

3.55 Cork: Cork Racecourse Kinsale Handicap Chase (Grade B) This looks an open renewal of the Kinsale and Run With The Wind looks a little short in the market at around 3.5. He had a much tougher task last time out in the Like A Butterfly Novices Chase (Grade 3) but didn’t show much sparkle in fifth place and although the step back in distance should help he might also need a little more cut in the ground to show his best. Top weight Pires makes more appeal. He comes here in grand form having won at Ballinrobe and run well well over hurdles last time out at Listowel in the Grade C Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle.

SELECTION: Pires

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Rasmeyaa (3.15 Naas)
NEXT BEST: Pires (3.55 Cork)
