BACK TO BACK NAPS: Sizing Granite (NAP) WON 8/11 was SHAMROCK’s only bet of the day and won in good style at Leopardstown. He bids for a naps hat-trick this afternoon.

I was pretty impressed with the nap, Sizing Granite, yesterday at Leopardstown. His only blemish came at the final fence which he bungled but he travelled well throughout and pulled clear to win by six lengths.

The best bet on today’s afternoon card at Navan could well be Sam Red in the opener.

The four-year-old impressed on debut at Gowran Park when third to Whiteout and Zafayan and Sam Red himself finished 47 lengths in front of the fourth placed horse that day. With normal improvement he should prove hard to beat.

Man danger is Crystal Pearl who was the winner of a one mile flat race at Kempton when trained by Mark Tompkins. He has run well in both his starts since joining Charles Byrnes finishing second on both occasions.

Good Cause and Hoodoo Brown are two interesting debutants.

NAP: Sam Red (2.20 Navan)
