NAPS ARE NOW 111221: SHAMROCK landed his fourth winning nap in six days with Stuccodor at Tipperary last night. SP was evens but he was 2.8 on BETDAQ when recommended.

What a little star Stuccodor has become. He notched up his FIFTH win in-a-row last night – something you rarely see these days. The wins have come at distances from 7f to 10f and was by a narrow margin, as most of his successes have been, but he has that all important factor – a real battler. He has no immediate future entries but I’ll certainly keep my eyes peeled for his next run.

Back to Tipperary tonight for their mixed card which gets underway at 5.30.

In the 6.00 I am keen on Bainne – but have a naps sequence (of sorts) to preserve and am recommending her on the PLACE market at around 2.50 on BETDAQ.

In truth, I fancy her to win – but think that’s how you should always play the place market anyway. If you don’t fancy your selection to win then should you really be taking shorter odds for an outcome that, by definition, you are uncertain of?

At first glance Bainne looks an exposed maiden and that would be correct, to a point, but she is also trying the 5f trip for the first time and that could be the key to a big run tonight. She travels well in her races, is capable of making the running (which I think are the tactics that will be deployed tonight) and already holds Dorothy Parker, Sandspring, Pixie Spirit and Playful Promises on 6f form at the course in March.

The debutants don’t appeal much – so we are left with a very moderate race.

NAP (PLACE MARKET): Bainne (6.00 Tipperary)
