WINNING NAP FOR SHAMROCK: SHAMROCK landed a winning NAP with BILDERBERG (NAP) WON EVENS in the opener at Fairyhouse last night. He now previews the best bets at Leopardstown tonight.
Bilderberg was well backed yesterday but landed the nap with ease winning the opener at Fairyhouse by four lengths.
The focus switches to Leopardstown this evening for their seven race card which gets underway at 5.50pm.
Eight of the 10 runners in the opener are debutants but it’s the two with experience who are dominating the market.
Preference is for Jim Bolger’s filly Pleascach who was pitched in at the deep on her debut at the Curragh on Sunday in a Group 3 but ran a race full of promise taking fourth behind I Am Beautiful.
Simply A Star for Aidan O’Brien was runner-up over course and distance but Pleascach looked to achieve most and whilst it’s a calculated gamble with some interesting debutants they would have to be well above average to beat her on debut.
Bertie Le Belge made a winning debut at the Curragh but stable companion Cape Wolfe, who was third, rather let the form down at Fairyhouse last night. As such, I prefer to look elsewhere in the 6.20 and am tempted by Aidan O’Brien’s easy Limerick winner Toscanelli .
