GROUP 3 RACES LEOPARDSTOWN: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the two Group 3 races on tonight’s Leopardstown card.
They race at both Leopardstown and Limerick tonight but the feature races are very much at Leopardstown where there are two Group 3 races on the card:
6:35 Jockey Club Of Turkey Silver Flash Stakes (Fillies Group 3)
Goddess should give trainer Aidan O’Brien his third successive win in the race. The Camelot filly stormed home at Leopardstown to win her maiden by 10 lengths and in doing so stepped up significantly on her Curragh debut.
Her stable companion Secret Thoughts had to work much harder to win her maiden at Naas but is likely to still improve and should appreciate the extra furlong.
7:10 Japan Racing Association Tyros Stakes (Group 3)
The Aidan O’Brien double should be landed with Anthony Van Dyck – another wide margin maiden winner. He won his maiden at Killarney by eight lengths
He’s up in class but Aidan O’Brien dominates this race (last four winners) and often uses it as a stepping stone for some real smart types. His recent winners have been Gleneagles (2014), Deauville (2015), Churchill (2016) and The Pentagon last year.
