CONCORDE FLIES HOME: SHAMROCK landed a short priced NAP with Silver Concorde at Navan yesterday. He heads to Tramore for today’s best bet.
I’m not sure we learned too much more about Silver Concorde who made a winning flat debut at Navan yesterday.
It was very much a workmanlike victory for the 2/5 favourite but certainly blew away the cobwebs.
The Dermot Weld trained runner won the bumper at the Cheltenham Festival last season and finished second in the Punchestown equivalent.
Weld’s son and assistant, Kris, said: “He enjoyed his summer break, and this was a nice race to get him started again. He probably won’t reappear over hurdles until around Christmas time. He’s a spring horse and wouldn’t want real heavy ground.”
Tramore stage a seven race card this afternoon starting at 2.45.
The beginners chase at 4.45 looks very moderate and should present a winning opportunity for Pollywollydoodle who has won over hurdles at Sligo and shaped well on her debut over fences at Wexford when third to Shake The Bucket.
