SHAMROCK HEADS TO BALLINROBE: For their card on Tuesday which sees a mix of flat and chase action. His nap runs in the 5.40.

A third from the nap yesterday – The Cub who finished third at 3/1 at Downpatrick. That’s a 1st, 2nd and 3rd from the last three naps – but hopefully today back in the money.

Irish action comes courtesy of a mixed card (flat and chases) at Ballinrobe which gets underway at 4.40.

There’s plenty of rain about in the UK and even in South Africa where today’s card at Clairefontaine has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track but Ballinrobe looks to have escaped and they are expected to race on good to firm ground.

The John Oxx trained Marakoush has been expensive to follow so far but should finally lose his maiden tag in the opener at 4.40, although I’m not dashing in to take short odds considering this is the fastest ground he has tackled and he has also been off the track for 107 days.

Newton’s Night, also trained by John Oxx, is my nap in the 5.40. She has improved with each start and won her maiden at Naas last time out in fine style.

The Willie Mullins trained Rough Justice makes his chasing debut in the 7.40. He hasn’t however always looked the safest conveyance over the smaller obstacles so a watching brief is the best strategy here.
