ALL CHASE CARD AT SLIGO: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the seven-race chase card at Sligo on Wednesday.

Beginners chases are not my usual modus operandi but with three of them on the Sligo card they are pretty hard to dodge.

Caledon Craic looks the best bet on the card for me in the Frank O’Beirne Memorial Beginners Chase at 2.45pm. Trained by Lady Jane Gillespie, Caledon Craic certainly deserves to get his head in front having finished runner-up in each of his last three starts over hurdles.

He went closest yet last time out at Perth when beaten a head by fellow Irish raider Romany Ryme with the pair finishing nicely clear of the third horse.

He steps down in distance for his chasing debut and he really does stand out in this poor contest.

Glendaars Best might easily run into a place. He has been placed over hurdles and looks a decent price at around 4.5 on the BETDAQ place market.
