SHAMROCK HEADS TO FAIRYHOUSE: He’s now 10 winning bets from the last 15 and bids to improve that with a nap in the opening race.

Unfortunately yesterday’s nap, Royal Moll, could only finish third – a bad mistake at the very first flight certainly not helping.

It seems that I’ve managed to find the only Willie Mullins horse to get beaten over the last few days, such has been his impressive strike rate.

The opener on the Fairyhouse card today should be fought out by the two Gigginstown House Stud runners and I agree with the BETDAQ market in favouring Ally Cascade over the Mullins trained Devils Bride.

He’s been off the track for 297 days, and his jockey Paul Carberry has been off the track for six months with a shoulder injury but the partnership should still prove too strong for recent Limerick winner Devils Bride.

Ally Cascade is rated 134 and was good enough to run Jezki to three quarters of a length in a maiden hurdle last year.

We don’t know much about Royal Caviar apart from the fact he won a maiden point easily by eight lengths and has since joined Willie Mullins. Assuming Mullins doesn’t land the opener, he should take the closing bumper with this one.

NAP: Ally Cascade (12.45 Fairyhouse)
