KINGSBARNS THE STAR ATTRACTION AT LEOPARDSTOWN: The seven race card includes Kingsbarns’ return to the course in the Heritage Stakes at 4.40.

Kingsbarns should make light work of winning the Listed Heritage Stakes at 4.40 – his first run for 165 days.

The Aidan O’Brien trained runner bids to win this race for the second year running after Declaration Of War won this at the start of a brilliant season for him.

Kingsbarns won the Racing Post Trophy as a juvenile and after training setbacks wasn’t seen out again until last September when he was tailed off (lost his action) in the Irish Champion Stakes.

He showed much more promise when subsequently third to Olympic Glory in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot and certainly a reproduction of anything close to that should prove easily good enough – but the odds tell you that.

Aidan O’Brien is quietly confident but doesn’t want the ground to deteriorate.

O’Brien has several short priced favourites on the card including Johann Strauss in the 4.10. He also runs Lone Star in the handicap at 6.10. Lightly raced, he won well at Dundalk and could well have been let in lightly by the handicapper.
