WATERLOO MAY FIND THIS A BRIDGE TOO FAR: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the second day of the Craven meeting at Newmarket.

Just the one runner from Aidan O’Brien on Wednesday and in terms of a bet I am keeping my powder dry until tomorrow.

O’Brien runs Waterloo Bridge in the Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Sprint at 3.20pm but faces a tough home challenger in Gifted Master.

Waterloo Bridge was unplaced in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Keeneland but had previously finished a comprehensive four and a half length second to Gifted Master here in October and I see no reason to see the form turned around over the shorter trip today.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, Landofhopeandglory looks worthy of the nap status in the £200,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Trophy.

The Aidan O’Brien trained runner was comfortably the best of these as a two-year-old and has a minimum of eight pounds in hand on his rivals on official ratings.

He didn’t finish out of the first two in four starts last season culminating in a close second to Moonlight Magic in the Listed Eyrefield Stakes at Leopardstown.

He’s a free running type who should be up with the pace throughout.

Godolphin’s Brave Hero broke the course record when winning on debut at Lingfield but hasn’t been seen out since so remains full of potential but O’Brien’s runner has the form in the book.
