BIG FIELDS AT PUNCHESTOWN: Some big fields on the Ladbrokes-sponsored card at Punchestown on Wednesday evening. SHAMROCK’s nap runs in the mares maiden hurdle at 7.50pm.

Good ground at Punchestown tonight and some huge fields for punters to sift through.

In the Ladbrokes Mares Maiden Hurdle at 7.50pm 25 runners are set to go to post but as often is the case in this type of race, many can be fairly readily eliminated from calculations.

Preference is for the Jessica Harrington trained Rovetta who showed ability on the flat when trained in France and made a pleasing debut under Rules when fourth to Devil’s Glen at Tipperary. Over the same trip and on the same ground tonight she should improve sufficiently to be able to land this.

The Jessica Harrington stable remain in good form and the biggest danger could come from stable companion Timetoget who ran well here at Punchestown in May when third at 50/1 and has subsequently finished runner-up to Sapphire Lady at Listowel.

The same amateur rider is onboard today and she should run her race but I just prefer the potential of Rosetta.
