LISTOWEL GOES AHEAD: Listowel gets the green light this afternoon and the Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase at 4.20 is the feature race of the week. He naps a horse trading around 8.2 on BETDAQ.

Racing goes ahead on heavy ground at Listowel this afternoon which is great news coming after racing was abandoned on Monday and Tuesday.

Needless to say conditions are likely to be as testing as they can possibly be.

There are currently four non runners in the feature race of the day, the Guinness Kerry National Handicap Chase at 4.20pm:

3 Shanpallas
7 Jacksonslady
10 Akorakor
13 Usuel Smurfer

This has allowed the three reserves to take their place in a 17 strong field over three miles.

The race has recently proved a headache for punters with winners at 33/1, 25/1, 20/1 and 16/1 in the last four years.

Your Busy won narrowly last year, despite some notable mistakes but it was run on ground that was good to firm in places and he faces a tough task to follow up – although he has won on soft ground before.

I’m looking for a real mudlark and Rule The World fits the bill. He looked unlucky when slipping up at Galway in the Plate when very much still in contention between the last two.

The Mouse Morris trained runner has shown some of his very best form with give in the ground including when winning the Grade 2 Limestone Lad Hurdle at Naas last year on soft to heavy ground.

He looks a sporting nap at around 8.2 on BETDAQ.
