After being scattered across the globe for a few weeks, the world’s best tennis players have all gathered at Indian Wells this week for the BNP Paribas Open. We’re only in the 2nd round of this two-week tournament, meaning there’s a plethora of matches for bettors to sift through in search of value. BETDAQ has markets for every match, of course, and we’ve done our best to comb through Sunday’s action and come up with some winners. Here they are:

BNP Paribas Open

ROUND OF 64

Jeremy Chardy (2.06) vs. Donald Young (1.89)

Young is a hard-court specialist, there’s no doubt about that, and he’s played some good tennis in recent weeks, reaching the semifinals in Memphis and the finals in Delray Beach. Chardy, meanwhile, hasn’t advanced beyond the quarterfinals in any of the 6 tournaments he’s played this year. However, Young has been extremely unreliable throughout his career, disappointing his fans time and again with his immaturity and lack of on-court toughness. Simply put: when the going gets tough, Young tends to check out. The big-serving Chardy certainly has the game to make things tough for the American, as he proved in easily dispatching Young back in 2012, which is the only previous meeting between these two. As a slight underdog, I think the Frenchman is a good value here. Recommendation: Chardy at 2.06

Nick Kyrgios (2.79) vs. Grigor Dimitrov (1.47)

Remember the name Nick Kyrgios. The 19-year old Aussie has the potential to be one of the very best in the world, a fact that many people (myself included) were entirely unaware of prior to his run in the Australian Open, where he won four matches before losing to Andy Murray in the quarterfinals. He has all the physical tools, he has youth on his side, and he seems to have a certain exuberance that should serve him well throughout his career. Unfortunately, though, a back injury sidelined him for the past six weeks, as his victory on Friday was the first match he had played since Melbourne. Sunday’s opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, is fully healthy and coming off a stellar year in which he won 50 matches and three tournament titles. Dimitrov also lost to Murray in the Australian Open but was able to take a set off him, and he has plenty of experience at Indian Wells, winning at least one match here in each of the past three years. The 11th-ranked player in the world, Dimitrov is simply a cut above Kyrgios at the moment, and the latter’s recent inactivity makes me a bit uncomfortable as a bettor. Recommendation: Dimitrov at 1.47

Steve Johnson (2.2) vs. Ivo Karlovic (1.68)

The 36-year old Karlovic has been playing some fantastic tennis lately, winning the Delray Beach Open last month and playing well the following week in Mexico before losing a grueling quarterfinal match to Ryan Harrison. His opponent on Sunday, Steve Johnson, has been on a bit of a roll himself recently, winning 4 of his past 5 matches without dropping a set (in the victories, of course). Johnson faced Karlovic just three weeks ago in the Delray Beach quarterfinals and lost in straight sets to the veteran Croat, but the second set was decided in a tiebreaker, and as the match progressed Johnson seemed to figure out the best strategy for attacking Karlovic. I watched that match and I remember thinking, “you know, the next time these guys play Johnson will probably beat him.” Well, the “next time” has arrived, and I’m putting my money where my mouth is. Let’s just hope Karlovic isn’t in-rhythm with his monster 1st serve… Recommendation: Johnson at 2.2
