MATCH OVERVIEW:
We finish the 2025 IPL Group stage on Tuesday as Lucknow Super Giants host Royal Challengers Bengaluru on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! We’ve had some cracking games over the last few days, even allowing for the fact that the top four have been already decided. Gujarat Titans opened the door in the race for top spot with a loss over Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. Not many would have called that result given how poor CSK have been this season; it was top v bottom but you wouldn’t have known who was top and who was bottom watching that game!
After the weekend, we have a lot to play for. Mumbai Indians play Punjab Kings on Monday, and the result there will have a direct impact on the chances of RCB getting into the top two. As things stand, Gujarat Titans sit top with 18 points, then we have Punjab Kings and RCB on 17 while Mumbai have 16 points. There isn’t much between RCB and Punjab Kings on net run rate, but whatever happens here a win for RCB will put them ahead of Gujarat Titans so they have their faith in their own hands for the top two race. Of course, it’ll be interesting to see who wins on Monday, but to be honest there’s no difference between first and second – you just want to be in that top two.
Standing in the way of victory are Lucknow Super Giants. They had some good momentum putting three wins together, but since mid-April the wheels have fallen off. They lost four games in a row to lose any hope of getting into the playoffs – but they do come here off a win over Gujarat Titans!
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
Both sides will know conditions well here. Obviously it’s Lucknow’s home ground, but RCB had their game moved here last week – unfortunately for them they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad, and they were hammered too. Scoring has been pretty consistent here all season, and you’d have to expect good batting conditions again. The first inning scores have been; 171/7 (chased), 203/8 (won), 180/6 (chased), 166/7 (chased), 159/6 (chased), 205/7 (chased), 231/6 (won). It’s actually hard to know what to do here; chasing is the done thing in T20 cricket these days though so I’d expect the winning captain to bowl first.
RECOMMENDED BET:
It’s no surprise to see RCB come into the game as the favourites. They have been the better side of the two this season; their place in the table shows that. Obviously it is a massive worry that they conceded 231 runs here last week though, and Lucknow come into the game off the back of beating Gujarat too, which hasn’t happened often this season. All the pressure is on RCB here to get into that top two, and I feel the 1.73 is a little short. I just expect a closer game than those odds suggest, and I’m happy to have a small bet on Lucknow at 2.32.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
With the scoring so consistent here all season, plus 231 scored here in the last game, this is definitely a game where you want to focus on looking for trades on the batting side. We have had some big scores chased down here this season too, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see 200+ chased. I’d be happy to support either side with the bat here; the plan will likely be support the side who bats first and then make the call at the innings breaks as to whether to stick, go equal or switch.
