CHELSEA V EVERTON

12.30pm While all eyes might be on Wembley this weekend on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE for the FA Cup Semi-Finals, we also have a decent Premier League fixture list! We have no late kick off on Saturday to allow for the Crystal Palace v Aston Villa clash at Wembley, but we kick off the action with Chelsea hosting Everton. With the title and relegation questions already answered, all the focus on the run-in is going to be on the European spots. It’s good news for Premier League clubs too; with Arsenal beating Real Madrid in the Champions League Quarter-Final there is going to be five Champions League spots this season. That’s going to help Chelsea because they are unlikely to make the Top Four. Chelsea’s run since they were spoken about as the main title challengers to Liverpool has been remarkable. Five wins in a row ended in mid-December, and since then they’ve only won six times. Those wins came against Wolves, West Ham, Southampton, Leicester, Spurs and Fulham – not exactly the toughest fixture list to win against, especially given Spurs have struggled so much this season too. With the additional Champions League spot though, Chelsea can still have a great season if they finished strongly.

As you would expect, they come into the game as the odds on favourites. Chelsea are trading 1.63 with Everton 6.4 and the draw is 4.2 at the time of writing. I have to say I wouldn’t be rushing to take the 1.63 on Chelsea – that price actually looks very short in my opinion, even with home advantage. Everton have been very tough to beat since David Moyes came back – he has given the squad a lot of confidence and boosted morale. Obviously their overall stats this season are poor given how bad they were playing beforehand, but they’ve only been beaten twice in their last 13 Premier League games and those two losses have come against Liverpool and Manchester City which you can easily forgive. Obviously there is still a gulf in class between the sides, but from a value point of view I’m very happy with a small Chelsea lay at the odds. Everton can make this game closer than the odds suggest in my opinion – you wouldn’t be totally surprised to see them actually win the game either.

The Striker Says:
One point lay (liability) Chelsea to beat Everton at 1.63 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

NEWCASTLE V IPSWICH

3pm We have a busy afternoon in the Premier League with four games kicking off at 3pm. Five of the bottom six are all involved, but with the relegation race decided the most important game in my opinion is Newcastle hosting Ipswich – purely from a Newcastle pushing for a Champions League finish point of view. This is a game that Newcastle will be fully expected to win, and they need to – they can’t afford to be dropping points against a side that’s going down to the Championship. A Carabao Cup win and a Champions League spot would be quite the season for Newcastle in fairness – the best season in recent times anyway! They come into the weekend sitting in fifth, and as I said in the above game with Arsenal beating Real Madrid in the Champions League Quarter-Final, the Premier League will get an additional spot this season which is fantastic news for Newcastle. As things stand coming into this weekend, they are one point behind Nottingham Forest and two ahead of Chelsea – Newcastle fans will be cheering for Everton in the early kick off! It’s no surprise to see Newcastle come into this game as the heavy odds on favourites.

Newcastle are trading as short as 1.23 with Ipswich 15.5 and the draw is 7.6 at the time of writing. It would be a shock to see anything bar a Newcastle win here, and we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value. Ipswich have been well short of Premier League standard this season – they have the joint-worst attacking figure with Leicester despite Southampton having so few points at the bottom of the table. They also have the fourth worst average xG conceded figure, and they’ve been conceding over two goals per game on average. Obviously Newcastle had a setback when losing 4-1 to Aston Villa last weekend, but they scored nine goals in their two home games. I feel they can cover the handicap here on the way to winning, and the 1.65 on -1.5 goals looks cracking value here in my opinion. That’s worth a confident bet before we head over to first FA Cup Semi-Final from Wembley.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Newcastle -1.5 goals to beat Ipswich at 1.65 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
